Best Logistics Stocks To Invest In Right Now

Now that Man of Steel has proven to be a success, fans are wondering if Time Warner's (NYSE: TWX  ) next step will be to pair its two biggest superheroes in a big-screen team-up, says Fool contributor Tim Beyers in the following video.

Fans' interest in a Batman-Superman film comes at an interesting time. Next week, Warner and DC Entertainment will be at San Diego Comic-Con to talk more about its big-screen plans, which presumably include a Justice League film by 2015.

Would such an accelerated schedule make sense? And if not, would a Batman-Superman film make more sense? Tim isn't sure, if only because the logistics of pulling off such an audacious project while also filming Man of Steel 2 might be too much for Warner to do well.

Therein lies the danger, Tim says. The last time Warner tried to do too much on screen, the result was a box office bomb called Green Lantern. And yet Warner may not have the necessary time to mimic Walt Disney's (NYSE: DIS  ) measured approach, which means betting on big names, and beloved characters may its best hope for boosting profits.

Advisors' Opinion:

Fiesta Restaurant Group (FRGI) owns, operates and franchises fast-casual restaurants under the Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana brand names. This stock closed up 10.5% to $34.73 in Friday's trading session.

    Friday's Volume: 552,000

    Three-Month Average Volume: 220,525

    Volume % Change: 140%

From a technical perspective, FRGI ripped sharply higher here right off some near-term support at $30.89 and back above its 50-day moving average of $34.23 with strong upside volume. This move pushed shares of FRGI into breakout territory, since the stock took out some near-term overhead resistance at $33.14. Shares of FRGI are now starting to move within range of triggering another key breakout trade. That trade will hit if FRGI manages to take out some near-term overhead resistance at $35.73 with high volume.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in FRGI as long as it's trending above its 50-day at $34.23 or above $33 and then once it sustains a move or close above $35.75 with volume that hits near or above 220,525 shares. If that breakout hits soon, then FRGI will set up to re-test or possibly take out its all-time high at $38.84. Any high-volume move above that level will then give FRGI a chance to trend north of $40.

Best Logistics Stocks To Invest In Right Now: BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (BPT)

BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust operates as a grantor trust in the United States. The company holds overriding royalty interests constituting a non-operational interest in minerals in the Prudhoe Bay oil field located on the North Slope in Alaska. Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Matt DiLallo]

BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (NYSE: BPT  )
Created in 1989, the property of the BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust consists of an overriding royalty interest of oil and condensate production from BP's Prudhoe Bay oil field located on the North Slope in Alaska. The trust makes quarterly payments to investors of the income after expenses, which can vary each quarter. Over the past year the trust has paid out an average of $2.22 per quarter which would imply a yield of around 9.4%. The key point that investors must understand is that the oil in the field is a finite resource, meaning that it will run out. Under current projections it's expected that the trust will run dry around the year 2029.

  • [By Aaron Levitt]

BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (BPT): BPT is the largest conventional oil and gas trust in the U.S. and was originally formed in 1989 by BP (BP). The royalty trust collects fees on the first 90,000 barrels of oil collected in the massive Prudhoe Bay oil field located on Alaska’s North Slope. While production in Prudhoe Bay have slipped over the last few years, BPT is expected to continue pumping out dividends for another 15 years. This royalty trustyields a very hefty 11% based on the last four distributions.

  • [By Rick Munarriz]

BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (NYSE: BPT  ) is also fueling its distributions. The trust's new quarterly payout comes out to $2.4147517 a unit. We're really splitting pennies here, but it's actually a reasonable 4% increase over its earlier rate.

Dover (NYSE: DOV) is expected to report its Q1 earnings at $1.01 per share on revenue of $1.87 billion.

Pepsico (NYSE: PEP) is estimated to report its Q1 earnings at $0.75 per share on revenue of $12.40 billion.

  • [By Jonas Elmerraji]

Dover (DOV) is another stock that's in a solid uptrend this fall. Like BSX, the manufacturing conglomerate has been trending higher since the start of the summer – beating the S&P 500 on a relative strength basis all the way up.

And just like BSX, the ideal time to buy comes on a bounce off of trendline support.

DOV pushed higher off of support in yesterday's session, catching a bid before it got down to the 50-day moving average. At this point, Dover's bounce is still a little tentative. While buyers did step in and bid shares up, yesterday's price action left things close to the support line. So while now might be a good time to build a starter position in DOV, I'd recommend waiting for a more confirmed more off of support before putting cash on this trade.

If you decide to jump in here, keep a tight protective stop in place.

  • [By Bob Ciura]

In the investing world, boring businesses don't get much attention. The financial media obsesses over the next hot stock, preferring to ignore the seemingly sleepy companies that generate reliable profits year after year. Some of the high-quality companies that fly under the radar are pure industrials, such as Emerson Electric (NYSE: EMR  ) , Dover (NYSE: DOV  ) , and Illinois Tool Works (NYSE: ITW  ) .
